University’s Josh Bean chalks up his 200th 1st Grade match for University in this Saturday’s round sixteen of the BETASPORT CTPL.
Bean’s 200th will be celebrated at KGV Oval, where University meet Glenorchy. Bean, a two-time premiership player, becomes only the fourth University player to reach the 200 game mark behind Brad Thomas (256), Ray Brown (243) and Michael Street (213). Throughout his lengthy 1st Grade career Bean has also accumulated 333 wickets, which is fourth in the club records behind Brown (497), Thomas and Josh Marquet who have both taken 370.
Apart from Bean’s milestone University need to ensure victory over Glenorchy in order to keep clear in third position ahead of South Hobart-Sandy Bay, North Hobart and New Town who are equal on points, just 3.5 behind University.
The clash at Blundstone Arena, Bellerive between Clarence and South Hobart-Sandy Bay is effectively a Semi-Final for the Kookaburra Cup ladder.
