Clarence has won its first Kookaburra Cup premiership in over twenty years after a resounding victory over Kingborough at Kingston Oval in the Grand Final.

After winning the toss and batting first, Clarence got away to a strong start thanks to playing Coach Scott Kremerskothen scoring 43 from 50 balls with eight boundaries, and Jon Wells with 46 from 59 balls. From that point Wade Irvine became the rock of Clarence's innings scoring 55 from 85 balls.

Clarence were 3/169 before Kingborough fought back significantly slowing the scoring rate, until a late order flurry from Sam Rainbird with 28 from 24 balls raised the Roos' score to 9/240 from fifty overs.

Jackson Bird claimed 3/46 for the Knights whilst Chris Elliott chipped in with 2/51.

In reply, Kingborough's innings never gained enough momentum to threaten Clarence. After top scorer Mark Divin was dismissed for 36 with the score at 3/67, and two further quick wickets left the score 5/81 Clarence cruised to victory.

Rainbird, Irvine and Alex Treanor each took two wickets, whilst Kremerskothen snared three catches and a run out in the field.

Irvine was named Danny Buckingham Medalist as the Player of the Final.
